The Dull Days Of Winter

Sorry for the scarcity of posts in the month of February. It was one of those months that had few events, both in my busy social life (ha ha) and weather-wise. The predominantly grey, albeit mild winter weather. meant that we didn't even get any exercise moving snow. The dull days gave me time to get some work done organizing my financials and investments and creating some "art product" that I plan to try and market later this year. I figure that since my financial portfolio has been languishing over the past too many months, I had better take matters into my own hands and start creating some cash myself.

Only time will tell if I'm successful , but I've been 'lining up my ducks' to do some serious stock trading and working on art for sale.  Really, what better time to do that than the dullest days of winter? In my next post I'll show you some of the art I've been working on.

Get Real!

I saw this ad in my email today and thought it was hilarious that an airline would actually think there was someone out there that "loved flying" in this day and age of nit-picky fees, inconvenient and humiliating "security", not to mention exorbitant parking fees and on and on...  Maybe I'll just drive.

Moving Is Always Fun

Erin and Jake moved into their new home which as you can see used to be a church.

We had some stuff to donate from our place that we were storing in our garage. Someday my car may fit again.

That's a full-sized regulation pool table they inherited with the place.

The bedroom is in the loft upstairs and the basement  (not shown) is a fully finished apartment which they will use as Jake's office, Erin's art studio and guest accommodation. It also has a kitchen down there.

And it's the first time I've been to church on Sunday in a long time. I think they are going to enjoy their new home.

An Early Spring? But We Didn't Get Winter Yet!

Canada's best-known furry forecaster is calling for an early spring.

Ontario's Wiarton Willie failed to see his shadow in the annual Groundhog Day ritual this morning.

 .
Willie's prediction agrees with Nova Scotia's prognosticating rodent Shubenacadie Sam but is at odds with Pennsylvania's Punxsutawney Phil, who is calling for six more weeks of winter.

Folklore has it that if a groundhog sees his shadow on Groundhog Day he'll flee to his burrow, heralding six more weeks of winter, and if he doesn't, it means spring's around the corner.
