Action Cam for the Hair Challenged

ACTION CAM SUCTION CUP MOUNT

This marvelous brain wave came to me at lunch at Joe Kool's today. Every month or two for the past couple years I have been invited to join my brother-in-law Doug and two of his good old friends Jaye and Mike at a popular London landmark bar.

As usual a substantial amount of information/bs was interchanged/exchanged during the 1 1/2 hour beer/pizza luncheon. One idea that was inspired by a conversation, I just had to document. This could be BIG, although the use of the 'action cam suction cup mount' is more or less restricted to the 'hair challenged'.  Possible use by Google 'street view' to document off-road places like Costco or even Joe Kool's.

I hereby, officially turn the idea over to the Joe Kool's working group to do with it as they please.

Wendy always gets excited about Halloween. She created this lovely display in the front foyer. This year we left the front lights on and attracted over half a dozen "trick or treaters".  The rainy, windy and cold weather dampened the spirits, but more candy for us. Ha ha!

Too much time on my hands? Maybe, but here's my latest for you to enjoy.

I always loved the "Art Deco" look. In March, 1938, the New York Central received the first of ten Hudson locomotives built by Alco and streamlined following a design by Henry Dreyfuss.

The beautiful Chicago Board of Trade building featured in this, my latest art deco composition, is still proudly standing in Chicago.Click the pic to enlarge it.

My Adult Colouring Book.

This is my colouring exercise showing the corner of Dundas and Richmond (London Ontario's main intersection) looking east around 1950. You'll need to click on any picture to enlarge the detail. I like the reflection of the city bus in the windows. My memories of this store are at least 17 years later but for some reason I do recall the speakers on each side of the as it clock belted out Christmas music in December.

This is the original black and white print. Nearly 70 years ago. Must be fall because the sign welcomes UWO students back. Most of these people, except the children, are well over 90 years old now. No 'street people' back then.

Entering A Contest... Hmmm! Look at These Concepts...

Princess Auto Ltd. is a Canadian retail chain specializing in farm, industrial, garage, hydraulics and surplus items. It was started in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1942, by Harvey Tallman who sold his truck and bought the business, then called it Princess Auto Wrecking.

The contest is to design a new cover for the 2020 catalogue. They want it to look somewhat retro with a reflection back to their history dating back to the late 30's and 40's. No rush to get them finished since the contest doesn't end until January. Anyway here's three thoughts I had in the last three days. Lots of time to dream up a winner I hope.

These are my initial concepts for the Princess Automotive 2020 Catalogue contest.

This one still needs something 'retro' in order to enter. Let me think on it. Of course I will also need the permission of my models before I submit. The prize is $5000 CAD and the art is featured on their cover. The money is nice but the cover would be timeless. Whatever happens it will be fun to do some 'real art'. for a change. Ha ha!
