Our good friend Cheryl is in the Big Apple this week. She successfully completed the grueling New York City Marathon and her times were very good. I can't even imagine running for nearly five hours straight. She is certainly in great shape! We are all very proud of her. You may recall that last year she ran in the Chicago Marathon and you can click here to read the blog. Cheryl and her husband John will be joining us on the Westerdam cruise on November 22 and we look forward to hearing her stories about this amazing adventure.
I think I see you Cheryl!
You can see by Cheryl's time chart that she ran at very constant speed The New York City Marathon (ING New York City Marathon for sponsorship reasons) is a major annual marathon (42.195 km (26.219 mi)) whose course runs through all five boroughs of New York City. It is one of the largest marathons in the world, with 37,850 finishers in 2006. Along with the Boston Marathon and Chicago Marathon, it is among the pre-eminent long-distance annual running events in the United States and is one of the World Marathon Majors.
