Our First Japanese Beetle This Season.

Oh oh! I just spotted this colourful Japanese Beetle on the glass patio table. These bugs have a voracious appetite for leaves, stripping a plant clean in a short time. They usually hatch out from grubs in the lawn when the air temperature exceeds about 80 F. A few years ago they pretty well ate our entire old grape vine trellis. There were so many bugs falling everywhere that we cut the vine down to keep them at bay. I don't know if we have anything left in the yard that they like to eat. We'll see!  CLICK HERE to read more.
