Loadin' Up The Truck

As we approach our Florida departure date, our Buick is getting heavier and heavier...

"So they loaded up the truck and they moved to Beverly..."
Actually I feel more than a bit of an attachment to the '23 Buick truck that was the Beverly Hillbillies' mode of transportation to California back in the 60's. You see, 1923 was the last year that Buick made a truck until 79 years later when they started making the 2002 Buick Rendezvous crossover SUV that I will be driving to Florida now. (and mine too is getting closer to antique status at 12 years) The year of the hillbillies truck (1923) was also the year that both Wendy's Dad and my Dad were born. (they'd be 90 this year) You can read about the fabulous old truck if you CLICK HERE

Southern Stuff:

If it can't be fried in bacon grease, it ain't worth eating.

Remember: "Y'all" is singular. "All y'all" is plural. "All y'all's" is plural possessive.

Don't be worried that you don't understand anyone. They don't understand you either.

If you hear a Southerner exclaim, "Hey, y'all, watch this!" -- stay out of his way. These are likely the last words he will ever say.

If you see a turn signal blinking on a car with a southern license plate, you may rest assured that it was probably on when the car was bought.
