Back to Reality - Home Safe and Sound

This was the last and shortest (235 miles) leg of our journey, from Findlay Ohio to Port Huron and home after stopping at Costco in Shelby Township, checking our US mailbox and hitting the duty free for two half gallons of Everclear 95% grain alcohol for $20. ea.

Always watching for a deal, I buy the Everclear then water the alcohol down to 2 1/2 times by volume (40% or 80 proof) (or 5 x 1.75 liter bottles for $40 = $8 a 1.75 liter bottle) In Ontario the L.C.B.O. (liquor board) charges 5 x $52 or over $250 for the same $40 worth of "vodka".

HINT: If you are going to mix your vodka as I do, the cheapest will taste exactly the same as the best. eg. vodka mixed with  tonic or lemon fizz. Don't waste your money on so-called premium vodkas like Grey Goose etc.

NOTE: 95% alcohol is ONLY available in the US duty free. It is not sold to the public in Canada or U.S. liquor stores. It is normally only available by doctor's prescription in both countries.

I don't know why they sell it in the duty free but they have done so for many years. Best buy in North America!  But don't drink it straight. One tablespoonful could choke you to death if swallowed.
