20 March - Tortola, British Virgin Islands

With a larger "Serenade of the Seas" tying up beside us we knew things could get busy.

Cliff led us to a car rental and looked after the details whilewe waited outside.

I snapped the fuel level so we could return the van with the same amount on our return.

We headed to the east end instead of our usual direction (Cane Garden Bay) to Long Bay on Beef Island.

What a beautiful beach. So clean and unspoiled.

Cliff jokingly figured the caution flag has been flying since last fall since there were no waves and no one around. The only people we saw was a municipal truck and the 4 man crew appeared to be taking a break with absolutely nothing to do here.

Our rental van awaits.

A huge aluminum coloured yacht glided by.

Barry says you cn easily see the bottom in 8 feet of water.

The next stop was Josiah Bay. A great bar on a beautiful beach.

Easy on the beer Cliff. Ha ha.

Behind the ramshackle beach bar was a new renovation that  promises to degrade the experience in the future. Oh well, that's progress!

Our next stop was Brewer's Bay and a lonely bartender Valerie McFarland.

She rents the place and it's a fairly new venture for her. I wished her well but she desperately needs customers. Hopefully she's busier on the weekend. The rum was good.

We didn't attend too many shows.  I think we only went twice. They were good at what they did but I felt the budget was low.

Good show but not like it used to be on the ships. Cliff says they have to keep cutting back to maintain a low fare in order attract customers fir under $100/day. Like everything else, quantity but hopefully not quality takes a dive. Overall the entertainment and food was great but selection and quantity were noticeably reduced. You get what you pay for?
